Institutions

SKKG
Stiftung für Kunst, Kultur und Geschichte (SKKG)

As the owner of the monument and collections, the SKKG plays a fundamental role in the very existence of Grandson Castle. Founded in 1980 by Bruno Stefanini, this public-interest foundation manages an exceptional collection of art and historical heritage of national significance. Through its vision and support, it enables the castle to reinvent itself as a place of dialogue between architectural heritage and contemporary creativity.

Municipality of Grandson
Municipality of Grandson

Ideally situated between the lake and the Jura, the municipality is a member of the “Most Beautiful Villages in Switzerland” association. It boasts a rich historical heritage, including the castle, church and medieval town, as well as a harbour, small beaches and campsites.

As a strategic partner of the “Grandson Castle 2026” project, the municipality provides substantial financial support and essential logistical assistance.

Partner municipalities

Municipality of Onnens

A wine-growing village nestled on the slopes at the foot of the Jura, a few kilometres from the castle, Onnens shares with Grandson the same lakeside landscape and a history rooted in Northern Vaud.
As a partner of Grandson Castle, the municipality provides regular financial support that helps sustain the monument and its activities.

ASSOCIATIONS

AACG
Association of Friends of Grandson Castle (AACG)

Founded in 1981, the Association of Friends of Grandson Castle (AACG) brings together nearly 300 passionate members who actively contribute to bringing one of French-speaking Switzerland’s major historic monuments to life. The association plays an essential role in the castle’s cultural life by organising the Grandson Medieval Festival.

Grandson Papegay Shooting Association (ATPG)

The ATPG revives an age-old tradition by organising the “Tir au Papegay” in the castle gardens on the first weekend of June each year. Open to novices and experts alike, this crossbow competition creates a stimulating encounter between historical practices and contemporary sport.

Swiss Castles
Swiss Castles Association (ACS)

Grandson Castle is part of a national network of 30 monuments across 13 cantons and three language regions. This strategic alliance enables its members to collectively represent the interests of fortified heritage and organise joint events such as Swiss Castles Day.

ACV
Association of Vaud Castles (ACV)

The Association of Vaud Castles brings together around twenty monuments open to the public across the different regions of the canton.
Varying in size and style, these castles are carefully preserved and, despite their differences, bear witness to a rich shared history linked to the House of Savoy and the Pays de Vaud.

Patrons’ Circle

The Patrons’ Circle brings together companies and individuals who support the Grandson Castle Foundation in its mission to preserve and pass on the castle’s heritage. Their commitment directly contributes to keeping the monument alive, enriching its programme and making it accessible to as many people as possible. We extend our sincere thanks to them.
