Grandson castle Association of Friends of Grandson Castle

Association of Friends of Grandson Castle

The association

Founded in 1981, the Association of Friends of Grandson Castle (AACG) brings together nearly 300 passionate members who actively contribute to bringing one of French-speaking Switzerland’s major historic monuments to life. The association plays an essential role in the castle’s cultural life by organising the Grandson Medieval Festival.

Bringing heritage to life

The AACG committee, supported by enthusiastic volunteers, organises major events that open the castle to all audiences:

  • The major Medieval Festival held in August, which attracts several thousand visitors each year.
  • Cultural activities and events that make history accessible and bring it to life.

Major projects

During the restoration period, the AACG is adapting its activities by offering:

  • Exclusive tours of the restoration site for its members.
  • Medieval workshops held outside the castle grounds.

In 2026, a major Medieval Festival will mark the reopening of the castle and the completion of the restoration work. Members will have the privilege of playing an active role in this landmark event.
